It's a way of publishing audio or video files to a website that allows users to subscribe to a feed and receive new files as they are posted. Most podcasts are spoken word audio created by individuals, often on a particular theme. Because new files are downloaded automatically by subscribers, podcasting allows individuals to have a self-published, syndicated radio show. As described by Wikipedia, "a podcast is distinguished from other digital audio formats by its ability to be downloaded automatically, using software capable of reading feed formats such as RSS (Really Simple Syndication) or Atom." Our current method of delivery using Real Player (which is "audio streaming") does not download the file to your computer and therefore does not support transfers to MP3 players like the iPod, nor does it allow playback when disconnected from the internet.
Here at White Plains we are adding Podcasting to bring you our weekly sermons and other WPUMC-related multimedia clips. It's okay if you don't understand how the technology works - it's easy to use! There are several ways that you can utilize our Podcast Feed. Choose from the options below.
1. If you have iTunes installed, click here to subscribe to the feed using that program. (If you don't have iTunes already installed, the link will not work.)
2. If you don't have iTunes or aren't sure whether or not you have any Podcast software on your computer, we recommend using either Juice or the FREE version of Yahoo! Music Jukebox. Once you get the software installed, you'll need to provide the program with the "address" of our podcast feed, which is: http://feeds.feedburner.com/wpumc-sermons

3. If you aren't comfortable using one of the above programs, you can sign up in the form below to receive an email each time a new sermon or media clip is added to the WPUMC Podcast Feed.
4. If all else fails, you can listen/watch the podcasts embedded in your browser window by clicking here.
5. Lastly, if you recognize or use any of the services listed below, you can click on the "chicklet" to add the Sermon Podcast Feed to your personalized page:
