The
White Plains Youth ministry leadership team believes that all
youth are called to a personal, intimate relationship with Jesus.
Mid-High and High School youth are invited to take part in fellowship
and study activities that help them grow in their knowledge of
God, their relationships with each other, and Christian service
to their community and world.
In addition to regular weekly United Methodist Youth
Fellowship meetings on Sunday and Bible Studies on Wednesday,
both Mid-High and High School youth choirs lead in worship each
Sunday. Youth also have a Puppet Ministry Team that tours the
region. Youth retreats are scheduled at least twice a year. Approximately
fifty Senior High youth travel with the Appalachia Service Project
each Summer to construct or rehabilitate housing and churches
in poor, rural mountain regions. White Plains also hosts and supports
the Boy Scouts of America. For more information about youth opportunities,
contact Rob Phillips,
Director of Youth Ministries.
